Do a google search for the "number one health problem" and you will dig up tens of thousands of sites claiming that the #1 health problem in America is such evils as- substance abuse, obesity, stress, Aids, lack of sleep, heart disease, mental health, etc, While I agree that these are serious problems, with far ranging effects, I believe the number one health problem in America is lack of fiber. The US Surgeon General recommends 20-35 grams of dietary fiber a day, but with the average intake of ...

I don't like to take off-the-counter drugs for common illnesses
like colds, headaches or stomach upsets. I have always relied on
natural remedies like honey for stomach upsets or lemon tea for
colds and good old sleep for headaches.
I think that natural remedies are not only safe but also healthy
for the body in the long-term. Though antibiotics and drugs are
highly effective in the short-term, they can take its toll on
the body if taken year after year. After many years of drug
administration, ...

Creating a 'quality' menopause transition requires following
certain guidelines to minimize its effects on women's health.
You probably know that this condition wrecks havoc on female
anatomy creating chemical imbalances and overall discomfort for
a period of time (both short and long). Bouts of anxiety,
physical symptoms such as hot flashes and vibrations ripping
through the body, vaginal discomfort, relationship issues, and
the realization that women are stepping into the next phase of
their ...

The first step is to first admit your condition to yourself. Once you've done that take the next step and admit that you need help. Overcoming panic attacks isn't easy and doing it alone is even more difficult.
If you suffer from panic attacks constantly, sometimes it's easier to pretend that you're suffering from some kind of physical illness. The symptoms from panic attack can sometimes feel like physical illness, and it can be difficult to know exact what is the matter. That is why it is ...

Sexual health is the integration of the somatic, emotional,
intellectual, and social aspects of sexual being, in ways that
are positively enriching and that enhance personality,
communication, and love.
The document went on to cite Mace, Bannerman, and Burton (1974)
who described sexual health as containing three basic elements:
(a) capacity to enjoy and control sexual and reproductive
behavior in accordance with a social and personal ethic; (b)
freedom from fear, shame, guilt, false beliefs, ...

Taking vitamins is one of the easiest steps that a person can
take to start pursuing a healthier and disease-free lifestyle.
In a perfect world, our bodies would get all the required
vitamins and nutrients from food. Unfortunately, however, the
vast majority of people don't get everything they need from a
modern diet. Although buying high-quality organic food can help
to remedy this problem, even that is often not enough.
It is especially difficult to naturally maintain the correct
vitamin ...

Shopping around for medical insurance can be a confusing
business. You need to keep your wits about you and keep track of
the benefits and costs of each policy and each type of policy.
Too often we tend to look at the price first and the rest of the
policy becomes a blur of fine print. And we're off to check the
next policy.
Slow down. There some important things you should do before you
start chasing around to get a policy. Doing these few things
will make the whole ...

Did you know approximately 12 percent (34.7 million) of the U.S.
population is African American (3). Compared with white
Americans, they are less likely to have private or
employment-based health insurance, more likely to be covered by
Medicaid or other publicly funded insurance, and twice as likely
to be uninsured, even though eight of 10 are in working
families. A disproportionate percentage of African Americans are
employed in jobs that do not provide health insurance. Many
African ...

Room air purifiers are, for many people, fast becoming a
necessity, rather than a luxury item. For those who suffer with
allergies or asthma, or simply experience a violent reaction to
one of the hundreds of chemicals that is routinely used around
our homes these days, a room air purifier or a whole house air
purifier can bring long-awaited relief.
There is little more distressing and uncomfortable than the
wheezing, itchiness and other symptoms associated with allergies
and other reactions, ...
